Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Break down the turkey by removing the legs, wings, and part of the backbone so it lays flat.
- Season the turkey with salt and pepper.
- Rub olive oil or butter on the skin, then add fresh herbs, garlic, and onions inside the cavity.
- Place the turkey on a large rimmed baking sheet.
- Roast in the oven for approximately 90 to 120 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the turkey to rest before carving and serving with roasted vegetables.
Notes
Make sure to thaw the turkey in the refrigerator if it is frozen. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
