An easy and satisfying recipe for crispy, juicy BBQ chicken using just two main ingredients, perfect for busy weeknight dinners or weekend gatherings.

- 8–10 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks (bone-in, skin on)
- 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (or canola oil)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C).
- Coat the chicken on all sides with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the chicken skin side down on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the chicken and turn the temperature up to 425 degrees F (218 degrees C).
- Brush the top of the chicken with BBQ sauce and flip it over carefully.
- Baste the other side with BBQ sauce and return it to the oven for 7 minutes.
- Repeat the basting process every 7 minutes for a total cooking time of approximately 46 minutes.
- Check the chicken’s internal temperature to ensure it reaches at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- If needed, broil the chicken for 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use bone-in, skin-on chicken and a high-quality BBQ sauce. Ensure your oven is fully preheated before baking.
