Description

An easy and satisfying recipe for crispy, juicy BBQ chicken using just two main ingredients, perfect for busy weeknight dinners or weekend gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 810 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks (bone-in, skin on)
  • 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (or canola oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C).
  2. Coat the chicken on all sides with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken skin side down on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken and turn the temperature up to 425 degrees F (218 degrees C).
  5. Brush the top of the chicken with BBQ sauce and flip it over carefully.
  6. Baste the other side with BBQ sauce and return it to the oven for 7 minutes.
  7. Repeat the basting process every 7 minutes for a total cooking time of approximately 46 minutes.
  8. Check the chicken’s internal temperature to ensure it reaches at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  9. If needed, broil the chicken for 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
  10. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use bone-in, skin-on chicken and a high-quality BBQ sauce. Ensure your oven is fully preheated before baking.
