Description
A delightful homemade apricot liqueur that combines sweet, tangy apricots with vodka for a refreshing beverage.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg apricots, halved and pitted
- 1 liter vodka or grain alcohol
- 500 grams sugar
- 750 ml water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place the halved apricots in a large glass jar.
- Pour the vodka over the apricots, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for about 14 days, shaking it gently every few days.
- Combine the sugar and water in a pot over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved to create a simple syrup.
- Allow the syrup to cool before mixing it with the apricot-infused alcohol.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the solids.
- Bottle the liqueur and let it age for at least another month before enjoying.
Notes
Use ripe apricots for the best flavor. Experiment with different types of alcohol and adjust sweetness to your personal preference.
